Purpose of the association (according to the statutes) and new trends…
E-JUNIORS: Introduction of juniors, and in particular e-excluded juniors, to the world of multimedia and communicative digital technology for educational leisure and/or professional prospects. »
Created in 2006, this association aims to:
Offer juniors, and particularly e-excluded people, the opportunity to learn about digital technologies, such as electronics and multimedia computing, as part of extra/extracurricular activities or non-formal learning in order to:
– encourage creativity and vocations
– enjoy free time in a constructive and educational way
– study new application areas
Such
–music computing
–the robotics
–computer-aided design (CADDrawing, photo, video)
The starting point for the association was the observation that there is a lack, particularly in activity centers such as the “Maisons des Jeunes et de la Culture” of fun activities – based on IT and new technologies – for “young people”, whether it be game libraries for little ones, workshops on sound or digital image for adolescents, or even – why not – interactive network games or sports exercises (of the “exergaming” type ) for all ages on computers or game consoles.
The reasons for this “lack” are multiple to the extent that it would be necessary to abandon a certain number of activities which no longer interest young people these days (such as pottery, bookbinding, etc.) and, on the other hand, , it is necessary to purchase new multimedia computer equipment.
Due to the fact that, among the facilitators/trainers on our team, there were computer scientists passionate about computer music and robotics, we offered and experimented, from 2006 – at the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture in the 11th arrondissement, with training activities. computer music targeting a “young adult” audience in difficulty and from very disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as at La Petite Rockette for younger people as an extracurricular activity on Wednesdays.
The target audience, initially, consisted of young people aged 11 to 18 as part of extra/extracurricular activities.
But after a few years, our association broadened its target audience by developing a range of activities dedicated to young people (from 18 to 30 years old) around three major axes:
- Occupational /work integration
- Intergenerational activities
- Entrepreneurship
E-Juniors had the opportunity to set up training workshops for young unemployed people in order to provide them with the tools necessary for their professional integration. These training courses are carried out in partnership with OVED (employment and community office). Taking place in the form of an internship, these intensive training courses aim to teach trainees how to send an application online. Thus, students are trained in Word software and other office tools and in searching for job offers online.
NEW:
At the start of 2024, E-Juniors is offering permanence in 2 Paris Anim Centers (12th and 20th)
To any young person between 18 and 30 years old who meets one of the following criteria:
- Are you young and interested in digital technology and social inclusion?
- Do you need help with your professional orientation?
- Are you looking for an internship?
- Are you looking for a job?
- Are you looking for accommodation?
- Do you need help with your administrative procedures: APL, CAF, Ameli, financial assistance, etc.? ?
Finally, E-Juniors periodically organizes with E-Seniors, intergenerational activities with town halls in the center of Paris. These moments of sharing between generations are characterized by the use of new technologies.
Young-senior pairs are formed and the generations mingle around video games, computer quizzes or even, more traditional, card games. Each generation introduces the other to its hobbies and proves that there is strength in unity.
